Freeze Leaves Legacy at Ole Miss

39-25 Record, Bowl Appearances Highlight Tenure

By [Author Name]

Hugh Freeze's five-year tenure as head coach at Ole Miss was a period of both success and controversy. The team went 39-25 during that time, posting a winning record in each of his first four seasons. Freeze also led the Rebels to four bowl appearances, including a victory in the 2014 Peach Bowl.

However, Freeze's tenure was also marred by off-field issues. He was forced to resign in 2017 after an NCAA investigation found that he had committed numerous violations, including making impermissible phone calls to recruits. Despite his departure, Freeze's impact on Ole Miss football is still felt today.

Under Freeze, the Rebels became a force in the SEC West. They won their first division title in 2014 and went on to finish the season with a 10-3 record. Freeze also recruited some of the most talented players in the country to Oxford, including Laremy Tunsil, Robert Nkemdiche, and Evan Engram.

Freeze's legacy at Ole Miss is a mixed one. He was a successful coach who took the program to new heights, but he also made some poor decisions that ultimately led to his downfall. Nevertheless, his time in Oxford will be remembered for both the good and the bad.
