Storm Score 14/Robertson Walk-Off for FW

San Antonio Missions (65-64)

The Missions fell to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (73-55) 11-4 in front of 6,134 fans at Wolff Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

San Antonio plated a run in the home half of the 1st inning when Eguy Rosario drove in CJ Abrams with a one-out single. The Space Cowboys answered back with a run of their own in the top of the 2nd inning off a solo homerun by Corey Julks. Sugar Land would strike again in the 3rd inning with a three-run homerun by Korey Lee to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

After falling 8-1, the Missions were able to scratch across three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to make it an 8-4 ballgame. Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get as the Space Cowboys tacked on three more runs over the course of the 6th and 7th innings to take an 11-4 lead which would stand as the final.

El Paso Chihuahuas (71-58)

The Chihuahuas dropped the series finale to the Fresno Grizzlies (70-59) by a score of 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at Chukchansi Park in front of 7,064 fans.

El Paso struck first in the top of the 2nd inning when Nick Fortes reached on a one-out walk, stole second base, and scored on a two-out RBI single by Luis Campusano.

The Grizzlies countered in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a two-run single by Brenton Doyle to take a 2-1 lead. Two innings later, Fresno extended their lead to 3-1 with a bases-loaded walk by Ryan Vilade. El Paso tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the 6th inning when Fortes drew a bases-loaded walk, but Fresno would regain the lead for good in the bottom of the inning with a two-run single by Doyle.

Lake Elsinore Storm (66-62)

The Storm defeated the Visalia Rawhide (65-63) 14-3 on Sunday afternoon at LoanMart Field in front of 2,905 fans.

Lake Elsinore jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning off a two-run homerun by CJ Carter.

Trailing 3-1, the Storm exploded for nine runs in the top of the 4th inning to take a commanding 12-1 lead. Carter led off the inning with a walk and scored on a triple by Jarryd Dale. Dale would later score on a single by Robert Hassell III. Hassell would eventually come around to score on an RBI double by Jonny Homza. Homza would score on a sacrifice fly by Jarius Richards. Carter capped off the inning with a three-run homerun to give the Storm a 12-1 lead.

After a Visalia run in the bottom of the 5th inning off a solo homerun by Buddy Kennedy, the Storm would tack on two more runs in the top of the 6th inning off a two-run single by Dominic Harris to give them a 14-2 lead.

After Visalia scored a run in the bottom of the 6th inning to make it 14-3, new signee Nick Robertson drove in Yorlis Rodriguez, who reached on a double, for the walk-off RBI single in the top of the 7th inning.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (73-55)

The TinCaps defeated the Lansing Lugnuts (72-56) by a score of 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at Parkview Field in front of 3,204 fans.

Fort Wayne took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning when Robert Hassell III drew a bases-loaded walk and scored James Wood.

The TinCaps extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning off a three-run homerun by Brandon Valenzuela. Lansing would get one run back in the top of the 4th inning to make it 4-1, but Fort Wayne would answer right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to push their lead back to 6-1.

The Lugnuts scored one more run in the top of the 6th inning off a sacrifice fly by Cam Eden, but that would be all they would get as the TinCaps would tack on one more run in the bottom of the 7th inning to give them the 7-2 victory.
